Providing Personalized Tutoring In A Class Of It's
Own Club Z! In-Home
Tutoring Services' educational strategy is unique
among tutoring programs. It offers one on one
tutoring by certified teachers and degreed
professionals at affordable prices right in the
student's home or local library. Club Z! tutors
have more than basic subject knowledge, but have
true expertise and practical experience in their
area of specialty. The Gervase's philosophy is to
hire the advanced level practitioner and
professional, that is not only a teacher, but a
chemical engineer, a physicist, a linguist, a
researcher, a geologist or education specialist. By
having this level of expertise, it can provide to
the learning environment significant practical
examples to achieve positive outcomes, and ease of
learning to the educational process. Two examples of the
Club Z! superior and unique services include: There
ability to provide a vast array of world languages
for tutoring. The owners felt that services needed
to be offered to conform to our ever-changing
community and multi-cultural society. Considering
these needs, Club Z! is capable of tutoring over
twenty world languages. Some languages include:
Spanish, German, French, Latin, Chinese, Portugese,
Russian, Armenian, Persian, Phillipino, Italian,
and many more. In addition, English as a Second
Language (ESL) is also provided. Another unique
offering is their SAT Test Prep Program. Their
program is highly collaborative with the College
Board, and utilizes multiple assessment and
diagnostic tools to identify the specific needs of
the student. The team approach is utilized by the
Club Z! coaches to achieve success with the
preparatory program, and significantly enhance
learning outcomes, and ultimately SAT scores.
A variety of
academic experts have researched and concluded that
students excel when they receive individualized
instruction on a one to one basis with the
instructor -- the Club Z! model of tutoring. The
added component of in-home tutoring affords
students as comfortable and non-competitive of a
setting as possible in which to learn, eliminating
the pressure and embarrassment of the classroom or
group setting. The Gervase's add, "In-home tutoring
allows the student and tutor to focus on the lesson
at hand, giving the student the individual
attention and support he or she needs, and enabling
Club Z! tutors to reach children more quickly and
effectively." As children continue to achieve
success during their tutoring sessions, there
confidence and self-esteem improve, and significant
improvement and results become clearly identified
in the classroom setting. Club Z! offers
tutoring in all core subjects, at basic to advanced
- including grad school levels -- reading, math,
science, computers, language arts, home-schooling,
workshops, and much more. Study skills are included
with every learning session. By providing a variety
of methods to promote organization and test-taking
strategies, the student continues to improve and
gain a greater understanding to the learning
process. Club Z! also provides tutoring in,
advanced test prep, as well as specialized services
for children, learning disabilities, gifted and
talented enrichment and special circumstances. To
enhance learning, one on one educational delivery
can be supported by online, e-mail as well as
telephone assistance. Club Z! is also
actively involved in providing services to at-risk
children through the No Child Left Behind federal

as supplemental education service providers in a
number of states and have forged partnerships with
various social service programs to provide tutoring
to those students who are most in need and least

Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services opened this past
spring, owners Madeline and Joe Gervase were
determined to offer the highest quality, and
uniquely tailored personalized education to
residents of Hunterdon County. Club Z! is doing
just what it originally set out to do: Provide
educational services to students and adults, so
their individual learning needs are being met.
There objectives are consistently being evaluated
and improved upon, to offer unparalleled services
and excellent learning outcomes. The belief of Club
Z! is to provide a learning plan tailored to the
individuality of the student, based on their
learning style, personality and specific
educational goals. Madeline, a Family Nurse
Practitioner and college professor, and Joe, a
timekeeping computer system supervisor with NYC
Transit, feel that to achieve outstanding results
you must provide the highest quality, standards,
flexibility, creativity and compassion to each
family situation and learning environment. This
